Sonny Aljofree impresses for Accrington Stanley in long-awaited return from injury – Man United News And Transfer News


Manchester United had numerous loanees in action on Good Friday.

Sonny Aljofree played his first game since February 22 after he picked up an injury.

He played the entire 90 minutes of Accrington Stanley’s 2-1 away victory over Salford City.

The young defender made eight clearances and won an impressive six out of eight aerial battles as the Salford attack could barely get around him.

Aljofree also made one interception and one tackle as he helped his side to a vital victory away from home.

He was not so effective on the ball however, as he only completed 52 per cent of his passes and could not complete any of his long ball attempts.

Rhys Bennett also played a key role in Fleetwood Town’s 0-0 draw with Barrow A.F.C.

He made four clearances in the match and won both his aerial duels.

Bennett also completed two ground duels and made one tackle and interception to help his side notch a clean sheet.

The former FA Youth Cup winner was fantastic on the ball, completing 85 per cent of his passes while having 97 touches in possession.

Ethan Williams came off the bench for the final 29 minutes of Cheltenham Town’s 1-1 draw with Gillingham.

The United youngster had nine touches of the ball and one shot on target for the Robins.

He also completed 100 per cent of his passes with one of them being a key pass.

Finally, Ethan Ennis played the final 21 minutes of Doncaster Rovers’ fine 3-0 away victory over Tranmere Rovers.

The 20-year-old was heavily involved, having two shots on target while he missed one big chance to add a fourth goal to his side’s total.

He also completed nine out of his 13 passes.

United’s youngsters will be back in action on Easter Monday when there is a full calendar of League Two football.
